Cookies and personal data

How we handle cookies, measurement and the information you send us through the website.

In accordance with the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (2022:482), which implements the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we explain here which cookies are used on this website and how we handle the information you send us through the message box. Ad measurement only takes place if you have accepted it.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They can be used to remember choices you have made or to measure how the website and our ads are used.

What we use

Your cookie choice. When you select Accept or Decline, your choice is stored in your browser (under the name prosa_consent_v1) for 180 days so that we do not need to ask again. It contains no personal data.

Ad measurement (Google Ads), only after you accept. If you accept, Google’s ad tag is loaded. It is used to count how many clicks on our ads lead to someone visiting the Contact page or clicking a phone number or email address. Google may then set cookies, for example _gcl_aw and _gcl_au (up to 90 days), and receive information about your visit, such as which ad you clicked, which pages you viewed and when. If you decline, no ad tag is loaded and no ad cookies are set.

Google services on the pages. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the Contact page shows a map from Google Maps. When these load, Google may receive your IP address and information about your visit, regardless of your choice above.

How the data is handled

We use the measurement only to understand which ads lead to contact with us. We see aggregated statistics in Google Ads rather than individual visitors, and we do not store names or email addresses in the measurement. Google does, however, use technical identifiers in cookies, so the data is not fully anonymous. It is handled by Google in accordance with Google’s information about cookies.

The legal basis for ad measurement is your consent. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or delete cookies in your browser.

The message box

When you send a message through the box at the bottom right of the pages, we process the information you enter yourself: subject, message and email address, and, if you tick that you would like to be called back, your phone number and country. We also receive the address of the page you sent the message from and the language of that page.

We use the information only to reply to your message and to call you back if you have asked us to. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, if the enquiry concerns an assignment, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).

The message is sent as an email to our shared mailbox, info@prosaconsult.se, via Microsoft 365. Microsoft is our email provider and processes the information on our behalf. The message is not stored in the website’s database. We keep the email for as long as is needed to answer and follow up on the enquiry, and after that in accordance with our email routines.

To protect the box against spam, the website temporarily stores a hashed code of your IP address (for one hour at most) and a hashed code of the message (for one day at most). Your IP address is not stored in plain text.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of or erasure of the information we hold about you, to object to the processing and to request restriction of it. The data controller is ProSa Process Safety Consulting AB.
